Sutherland Gaelic Day

January 24

For anyone interested in Gaelic, a whole day of workshops with a wide variety of activities to suit all ages has been organised for next month. All sessions will be held largely through the medium of Gaelic, but due to the practical nature of these they are suitable for complete beginners up to fluent speakers.

DAYTIME WORKSHOPS:

Leugh is Seinn Le Linda: 🧸🎶📚

Linda, a Gaelic singer, has been running Gaelic sessions for babies and younger children for years. She is the perfect person to introduce wee ones and their parents/carers to Gaelic through songs and stories using actions and puppets.
Linda will do sessions for two age groups: 0-5 years and parents/carers and P1-P3.
You can sample some of Linda’s sessions online by searching YouTube for Leugh is Seinn le Linda.

Spòrs Gàidhlig 🗺️🧭🍂

Spòrs Gàidhlig, who specialise in Gaelic outdoor activities for youngsters, will hold an orienteering session for children in P4-S3.
In addition to this there will be a giant Gaelic map jigsaw (almost the size of Lairg Hall!) for this age group to complete in the hall. Have a wee peek here https://www.spors.scot/mapland-alba-2/
