Join artists Lisa Poulsen and Joanne B Kaar for a relaxed afternoon of hands-on making inspired by the shoreline, seaweeds and coastal landscapes around Dunnet Bay.
Lisa will lead a gentle, sensory mark-making workshop inspired by her High Tides and Art Vibes practice. Using simple materials and prompts drawn from the coast, this session encourages slowing down, observing, and responding creatively to place.
Get inky and print your own seaweed picture. Taking inspiration from the many shapes of seaweeds on our shores, we will use the printmaking technique of direct line monotype to make new artwork. You can draw your own or use images of seaweeds to trace around. Suitable for primary school age children and families, there will be a variety of papers and inks to use. Slightly sticky, we will carefully wrap your prints to take home to let them dry.
All materials are provided.
This informal, family friendly drop-in session is suitable for all ages and invites participants to explore mark-making, texture and colour using natural forms from the shore. People are welcome to move between activities, take their time, and stay for as long or as little as they like during the afternoon.
