Explore The Peatlands of the Flow Country World Heritage Site at Forsinard

June 6 @ 2:15 pm - 4:45 pm

Explore The Peatlands of the Flow Country World Heritage Site at Forsinard with Graham Thompson.

A gentle stroll on the boardwalk on RSPB’s nature reserve. Discover how and why the special plants here make peat.

Join me for a gentle stroll on the RSPB’s Forsinard Flows nature reserve to discover the splendid peatland habitat with its World Heritage Site designation, all from the comfort of a boardwalk and flagstone trail.

Prepare to be shocked at how deep the peat is! Do you dare to bounce on it with me? Explore the many pools (with a pond net) and discover what lurks there.

Climb the observation tower for spectacular views. Learn about the special peatland birds and plants and marvel at the landscape as we look across the Ben Griams Site of Special Scientific Interest. Hear about some of its secrets. Watch out for eagles and bog wading birds.

This walk fits in with train arrivals and departures from north and south, so why not let the train take the strain?

Proper outdoor clothing is recommended in case of inclement weather. The trail might be wet in places, so do wear walking boots or wellingtons.

Not suitable for dogs.

I am available to do this walk and others at most times. Do contact me with any queries or requests.
