Let’s explore atmospheric East Helmsdale together enjoying scenic views and a delightful walk through nature and culture.

Helmsdale is a beautiful village on the East coast of Sutherland, steeped in heritage, it is a wonderful place to explore, so join the Ranger to enjoy a delightful walk incorporating the coast, land, hill and riverside surrounding East Helmsdale on this approx 7km circuitous route. Meeting point is at Helmsdale Harbour Car Park.

Wildlife we regularly encounter in Helmsdale include seabirds, songbirds, adders, slow worms, toads, red deer, roe deer, a variety of trees and plantlife.

We will be walking at a slow and steady pace. Expect rough terrain, steep in places, a reasonable level of fitness is required and walking boots are a must.

There will be a charge of £5 per person for this event. The charge for this event is solely to cover the costs of operation and will go towards education about and protection of the nature of the Highlands.
