' My jewellery is an amalgamation of German clean contemporary shapes with Bavarian and Scottish traditional influences. I have a passion for the vertical, for anatomy and theatre. Unusual and beguiling gemstones and pearls are set in 18ct Gold, Silver, Palladium and Platinum.
The human body and its adornment is my focus. I work in one-offs and on varying, betimes sculptural scales. Additional materials I use are blown glass, found and locally sourced objects and fibres. Many pieces have been shown in public galleries and museums.
The studio and showroom are based on the windswept coast of the Portland Estate in Caithness. This is an inspirational landscape rich in drama, ancient history and steeped in Highland traditions. Deer antlers, notions of hunting trophies, sustainability, climate and ancient adornment have all influenced recent work.'
All work is for sale; payment is accepted in cash, cheque and per digital transfer. Patricia teaches technical glass classes and one-to-one jewellery workshops on request and is available for talks about jewellery, body adornment, studio glass and related topics. The studio hosts open days with illustrated talks about recent work and craft developments regularly. While the studio is generally open 6 days a week all through the year, there are no fixed opening hours. Please ring or email for an appointment, if you plan a special visit.
The location of the showroom studio is at the very bottom of the Berriedale Braes on the side of the A9. Just turn off following the sign for the public phone. There is a car park directly in front of the studio.
