Jail Dornoch

Dornoch's 19th century Town Jail was transformed into a contemporary designed shop in 2000 offering a superb selection of unique gift ideas, luxurious cashmeres, and quality country wear.

Jail Dornoch is more than a glimpse into the past – it's a beautiful shop offering a quality shopping experience with more than 200 specially selected suppliers, representing the best the British countryside has to offer. When you visit Jail Dornoch prepare to be captivated by its modern style and spacious interior.

Our gift shop is a treasure trove of beautiful handcrafted gifts from the best craftsmen and women in the country – sterling jewellery from Orkney, hand engraved glassware, locally handmade wooden clocks and mirrors, and hand painted pottery from the Highlands.

Along the stone corridor to the cells you'll discover wonderful handmade soap from the Isle of Skye and aromatic delights from the Isle of Arran. In the middle cell you will find a large selection of woven throws in a range of colours. The last cell showcases a delightful selection of children's wear, soft toys and children's books.

Through the back to our clothes shop – it's stunning. Why not treat yourself to a whole new look? Brighten up your wardrobe, revitalise your style and discover wonderful, original fashion accessories from talented handbag and shoe designers.

Indulge in our exciting collection of luxurious Scottish cashmere knitwear and scarves in gorgeous styles and colours; revel in the stunning designer knitwear from independent Scottish and Irish designers.

Be seduced by the most beautiful selection of quality tweed jackets and coats made exclusively for Jail Dornoch and see the "Best selection of Barbour Jackets" in the north of Scotland.

This is just a small taste of the specially selected suppliers, including independent designers and artisans we have to offer; you will find inspiration at every turn. We hope we have given you a flavour of the wonderful things we have to offer and the selection we have featured inspires you to visit us at Jail Dornoch.

You will be made most welcome.
