Visitors to the area can either relax or take a stroll along one of many beaches on the Caithness coastline.
Caithness is one of the finest fly fishing counties in Scotland. So why not come and see for yourself. Where we are situated in Watten by the famous Loch Watten, this loch is the second largest loch in Caithness about three miles long and up to half a mile wide, and is renowned for its wild brown trout. Fly fishing season starts from 1st May to 30th September.

Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed, you can enjoy North Highland specialities from award winning Mey Selections Scotch Beef reared within 100 miles of the Castle of Mey or locally caught brown trout fresh from Loch Watten during our fishing season May to October and a choice of locally grown vegetables.
