Discover Suilven, Scotland's iconic ridge overlooking the North West Highlands.

Rising to 731 metres, Suilven is one of the most distinctive and dramatic mountains in the Scottish Highlands. Located in the remote Assynt region of Sutherland, its steep-sided ridge and unique shape make it instantly recognisable and a bucket-list climb for adventurous walkers. Though not a Munro, Suilven’s prominence and isolation offer a truly unforgettable experience.

The most popular route begins near Glencanisp Lodge, just outside Lochinver, following a long but scenic approach through moorland, lochans, and bogs. The final ascent is steep but non-technical, zigzagging up a gully to reach the bealach before continuing to the summit at Caisteal Liath. The views from the top are breathtaking and on a clear day, you can see as far as the Outer Hebrides, Skye, and Orkney.
