We run mentorships, course series, training and one-off events with a goal of supporting people into employment in the creative industries. By developing programs around a different theme each year, we encourage positive engagement with the unique landscape by artists and collaborators.

We are moving from our 2025/26 theme of plants to our 2026/27 theme of bugs. By working with venues, groups, researchers and health teams, we put together art projects which challenge and delight audiences by introducing new practises, new venues and new ways of looking at the world.

Rising Artists of Caithness course

This course is for emerging artists who experience barriers to arts participation and has run for the last 3 years. Art workshops in different mediums are facilitated by local professionals, alongside a mentorship course which guides attendees through social media, networking, funding applications and exhibiting artworks.

– life drawing (Aug – Oct)
– bug drawing (Sept – Nov)
– tree planting sessions (Sept – Dec)
– training sessions (Sept – 2027)

Annual Event

We are looking for collaborators for an annual event which celebrates a year of exploring the theme of bugs in Caithness. We have some ideas already, and have taken inspiration from the incredible work of conservationists and art practitioners that we have come into contact with.
