The John o’ Groats Trail is a spectacular 147-mile coastal walking route stretching from Inverness to the iconic village of John o’ Groats. Winding through cliff tops, beaches, and historic towns, the trail offers breathtaking views of the North Sea and access to some of Scotland’s wildest landscapes.
Ideal for long-distance hikers and coastal walkers alike, the trail passes castles, sea stacks, and remote harbours, with frequent sightings of seabirds, seals, and even dolphins. Though still under development, most of the route is walkable and waymarked, with accommodation and services available in towns along the way.
