Located at the tip of the UK mainland and just a few steps away from the famous John O’Groats signpost, John O’Groats Brewery crafts award-winning ales inspired by the rugged coastline, powerful tides and rich heritage of Caithness. Founded by a group of passionate local brewers, the brewery began life in the Old Fire Station before expanding into the historic Last House, one of the oldest surviving buildings in John O’Groats.
Every beer is brewed using locally sourced Highland water, reflecting the pure, unspoilt environment of Scotland’s far north. Their diverse range of cask and bottled ales takes inspiration from the landscapes and sea conditions surrounding the Pentland Firth, delivering distinctive flavours that capture the spirit of the region.
Visitors are welcome to explore the brewery’s unique home in the Last House with an immersive audio tour guide. The atmospheric tasting room showcases a selection of locally produced spirits, making it an ideal stop while exploring John O’Groats.
