Held in the stunning North West corner of Scotland, the Durness Highland Gathering is one of the region’s most spectacular annual events.

In 2026, it takes place on Friday, 24th July, kicking off with a ceremonial march led by the Chieftain and pipe bands through the village square to the Games Field.

This vibrant day features £6000 in prize money, open-entry competitions in track, field, heavy events, and tug o’ war, plus performances from local Pipe Bands. Visitors can enjoy children’s events, vintage vehicle displays, food and drink stalls, and adventurous activities like archery, axe throwing, and disc golf. Kids will love the inflatable fun zone, and the day concludes with an evening dance in the Village Hall.

Whether you’re competing, spectating, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, the Durness Highland Gathering promises a memorable experience for all ages.
