The Life and Art of David Barrogill Keith – Exhibition

June 6 - June 27

An exhibition of the extraordinary artwork and experiences of David Barrogill Keith, exploring the creativity, intellect and resolve which exemplified his life.

The exhibition brings together artwork from the collection of Robert Maitland, local knowledge and research by historian Alan McIvor and the Caithness Archive Team, alongside original records held at Nucleus: The Nuclear and Caithness Archives.

Affectionately known as ‘Barrogill Keith’ or ‘D.B. Keith’, David Barrogill Keith was a well-known figure in Caithness and beyond, with many of his original artworks still hanging in houses around the county today. However, his life and work may not be as familiar to a modern audience and so this exhibition seeks to give a fuller account of both his experiences and his captivating paintings.

Venue: North Coast Visitor Centre, High St, Thurso KW14 8AJ
From the 6th to the 27th of June 2026*, from 10am to 5pm.

*Please note, closed Sundays and Mondays.
