Soap Box Grand Prix

The Rotary Club of Thurso invites budding engineers and willing participants of ages 8 to 88, to participate in the Thurso Soap Box Grand Prix, at 1.00pm on 12th September 2026, on Primrose Avenue, Thurso.
We invite you to design and construct the most attractive and entertaining free-rolling Soap-Box Kart that you can.
The idea of the event is for people to enjoy designing and building their kart, and to have a fun afternoon of karting.
Beginners and all standards of manufacture are welcome. Get kitted-up, bring your kart along on the day, and test your engineering skills and driving performance at our Grand Prix time-trial track.
In order that we can manage the numbers, entry to the event is strictly by pre-registration only. So please register as soon as possible using the attached form and get building!
The closing date for registration is 29th August 2026.
