Observing the Moon – What Can You See?

April 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Caithness Astronomy Group is delighted to host a free public talk presented by CAG member Gordon Mackie at the Castlehill Heritage Centre, Castletown, on Saturday 25th April at 7:00pm (1900hrs).

This engaging presentation offers practical, beginner‑friendly advice on observing and imaging the Moon using equipment readily available to amateur astronomers. Through a carefully curated selection of lunar images, the audience will be taken on a visual tour of the Moon’s surface, highlighting fascinating features that help explain how the Moon has evolved into its present form.

Weather permitting, the evening will also include a short outdoor observing session using Caithness Astronomy Group telescopes, giving attendees the opportunity to view and image the Moon firsthand. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.

The event is suitable for all ages, and children are very welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
