Exploring Assynt
Although the fly fishing is the ‘excuse’ for heading out and exploring Assynt, there is so much more to be discovered about this place. Its geology, history, flora and fauna, stories, legends – it all combines to create a wonderfully rich and intoxicating experience.
I want you to have that experience, to feel immersed in it all and take a part of Assynt away with you, in your heart, to guarantee your return for generations. I will always be “A Guide who takes you Fishing” and never simply “A Fishing Guide”.
Fly Fishing Experiences
I genuinely pride myself on being a truly 'Family Friendly' experience, and introducing kids to the joys of exploring a wee burn (a small stream) is something that I really enjoy!
I cater for all ages, abilities and levels of experience and offer services:
My 'Itinerary Writing Service' will give you written notes and detailed maps to get you to exactly the water you want with the best chance of success and include the option to issue you the relevant permits as well – you simply turn up and fish!
You might want a one-hour 'Fly Fishing Consultancy' – we meet and enjoy an intense, information-filled chat about everything fly fishing in Assynt and you will leave with your head buzzing with anticipation of the adventure ahead!
For bookings I offer Half, Three-quarters, Full and Extended Days, but in the high season of May through July I cannot offer Half Days unless for a family booking.
Wilderness Fly Fishing Safari
For the ultimate experience I offer 'Wilderness Fly Fishing safaris' – we set up camp out in the wilds of Assynt and explore the beautiful land and waterscapes, a million miles from the day-to-day and an experience you will not soon forget!
Two options are available – the mobile 'Expedition Style Safari' with big packs and small tents or the top-tier 'Glamping Safari' using a large bell tent, complete with wood burning stove, comfortable chairs, home cooking and unforgettable chat and banter every evening!
