COME HOME TO LINKS HOUSE AT ROYAL DORNOCH

Welcome to Links House at Royal Dornoch, located in the charming and historic town of Dornoch, one hour north of Inverness.

Links House offers luxury accommodation, outstanding food and beverage and a splendid mix of Highland experiences and adventures appealing to all age groups and interests.

Accommodation

The property consists of three buildings with fifteen bedrooms, two of which are apartments with fully equipped kitchens. Facilities include public rooms, a putting green, gardens, free car parking, a Sporting Bothy (for golf clubs and outdoor gear) and free WI-FI and Sky TV throughout.

Links House has received various accolades since opening in 2013, most recently the Scottish Hotel Awards Scottish Golf Hotel and Luxury Town Hotel for 2019.

Food and Beverage

Links House has its own thirty seat AA rosette restaurant, MARA, meaning 'Sea' in the Gaelic language. Mara's concept of Seafood and Highland Fayre showcases the best fresh produce of the Highlands and Scotland. It is open to both guests and non-residents seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Links House has a second outlet in the town square of Dornoch. The Courtroom Wine Bar and Brasserie, formerly the Courthouse Cafe, which is located on the first floor of the Carnegie Courthouse and offers superb brasserie food, daytime cafe favourites, great wines, cocktails and local craft beer, as well as regular live music sessions.

Golf

Links House is located in an outstanding golf region of Scotland. The property is situated just 50 yards from the first tee of Royal Dornoch Golf Club, ranked number 4 in the world by Golf Digest (Jan 2018).

James Braid designed Brora and Golspie Golf Clubs, which are just to the north of Dornoch, and Old Tom Morris designed Tain Golf Club, just 15 minutes south of Dornoch.

In addition, Castle Stuart (Scottish Open venue) and The Nairn (Walker and Curtis Cup venue) are within 5 and 15 minutes of Inverness Airport respectively and popular with guests on arrival and departure days.

Activities and Attractions

Dornoch is a vibrant town set on a beautiful stretch of North Sea coastline. The town centre and high street have an interesting mix of cafes, pubs and high-quality retail outlets such as the Dornoch Jail and the Carnegie Whisky Cellars.

The 13th century Dornoch Cathedral, being one of the smallest in the UK, is also well worth a visit. Nearby attractions include the magnificent Dunrobin Castle and famous Whisky Distilleries Glenmorangie, Balblair, Clynelish and the re-commissioned Brora Distillery.

The wonderful coastal and mountain scenery provide the setting for numerous outdoor adventures, from salmon fishing and Deer Stalking, to hiking, biking and wildlife trips. Links House is also situated on the iconic North Coast 500 route and is a great stop-off or base from which to explore all parts of the NC 500.

Connectivity

Links House is easy to get to. Inverness Airport, just 45 miles south of Dornoch, has regular flights to London Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton and a daily flight to Amsterdam. It also has flights to Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Belfast and Dublin.

Inverness also has a rail terminus with daily trains from London, Edinburgh and Glasgow, including the overnight Caledonian Sleeper. Links House also has its own transport service to collect guests from either Airport or Train Station.
