Lazybed Accommodation

Lazybed and Batbox: Two individual, beautifully designed, self-contained, eco-style holiday houses, privately situated in Inverkirkaig near Lochinver. Surrounded by stunning scenery. A peaceful place to unwind. The perfect base to walk up Suilven, explore the wonders of Assynt, travel the NC500 at a gentle pace. See our rates and how to book on the Enquiries page of our website. Gift vouchers available. Electric vehicle charge point on site.

Inverkirkaig and beyond

Lazybed and the Batbox are privately located either side of the owner's house, on their 3 acre croft in Inverkirkaig, a coastal settlement 3 miles south of Lochinver and about 40 miles north of Ullapool.

This area of the magnificent north west highlands is known as Assynt, a geographically and geologically remarkable landscape. Many of Scotland’s most individual and charismatic mountains are close by and the stunning coastline stretches north to the white sandy beaches of Achmelvich, Oldshoremore and Sandwood Bay and south to the wild, rocky coves and shell sands of Wester Ross.

A multitude of trout-filled lochs cover the hinterland and the beautiful River Kirkaig, with its excellent salmon fishing and waterfall path, is only 10 minutes walk from the door. Continue beyond the falls passing Fionn Loch and eventually reach the summit of Suilven, northern Scotland’s most iconic peak.

There is very little air pollution, noise pollution and practically no light pollution in Kirkaig. On a clear night you may get heady at the plethora of stars, walk by the light of the full moon, catch a shooting star on a winters night or perhaps the Aurora Borealis!

Check out more links and places of interest on the Directions page and read about croft life on the Environment page of our website.

The accommodation consists of a lounge with fully equipped kitchen, a separate cosy king-size/twin bedroom, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, toilet and wash hand basin.

There is a generously sized deck area with views south west to Inverkirkaig’s tranquil sea loch (2 minute walk to the beach) and the wonderfully remote peninsular of Rubha na Breige.

See more details on the Lazybed page.
