Ferrycroft wood located near the Visitor Centre has two footpath trails, suitable for wheelchair users, with views over moorland, the village of Lairg, Loch Shin and the Hydro Dam. There are remains of old boundary wall systems throughout the wood, with the 2,000 year old foundation remains of a broch. It is thought that possibly the stones of the broch were ferried over the loch to build the first church of Lairg.
