The Highland Council Countryside Ranger base for Northwest Sutherland includes a 'hands on' display of local natural history artefacts and a mine of information on local wildlife such as the great yellow bumblebee, wildflowers such as the iconic Scottish primrose. It also includes geology, such as the internationally important Moine thrust and arcaeological information including a Viking burial! The ranger is often on hand toehlp and answer any queries and carries out a full programme of guided walks in the area.
