This landscape has , in the main, escaped the touch of man and has been designated as a Special Landscape Area which goes from Oldshoremore to Durness, which is home to a wide diversity of wildlife. The cliffs around this cape are an internationally known site for over 50000 nesting sea birds, including colonies of Puffins , Guillemots, Razorbills ,Fulmars and Kittiwakes .
The harbour porpoise, common seal and bottle-nosed dolphin are common sights along this coast.
