Inspired by Strathnaver Museum's community boat building project Joanne worked with local boat builders seeking to preserve the intangible cultural heritage around traditional boat building techniques and tools at risk of being lost.
Joanne's prints explores the shapes and structures emerging from clinker built boats, recording the names of tools and techniques in her work helping to preserve this valuable intangible cultural heritage.
Also on display will be the templates used to create the community built boat Grace a replica of the Iris on display in the neighbouring gallery.
Joanne will be on site on 6th and 7th June running drop in printmaking workshops.
