Join our tutor Sally on Tuesday, 25th February for a marvellous Mosaic Making class in The Cabin at Lairg Learning Centre. This isn’t just any art class; it’s your chance to create a stunning legacy piece that will raise awareness and inspire action in your community! Sally has been preparing, drawing and designing 3 large mosaics for our Flight Path project, each mosaic piece will represent an element of Climate Change facing birds. You will aid her in putting this masterpiece together, and learn valuable methods and techniques during that time.

This course is perfect for anyone—from complete beginners to seasoned artists—who has a passion for wildlife, art, or making a difference. If you’ve ever wanted to explore your creative side while learning about the environment, this is the place for you!
What You’ll Learn:
By the end of this hands-on course, you’ll not only have contributed to a beautiful mosaic to showcase but also a deeper understanding of: The basics of mosaic techniques and materials. How to choose and place mosaic pieces to create the most impact. The significance of birds in our ecosystem and the challenges facing them.
Course Duration:
Get ready for a whirlwind of creativity! This course spans a full day, each session is 3 hours with a lunch break inbetween, 9.30am-12.30pm & 1pm-3pm. You’ll be diving into your mosaic masterpiece in a friendly and supportive environment. Prerequisites: No prior mosaic-making experience is necessary; just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn! If you have a love for art and nature, you’ll fit right in. ABOUT FLIGHT PATH: Through a combination of creative writing workshops, lectures, immersive walks and various mediums of art, we hope to raise awareness and a comprehensive understanding of how climate change is altering the behaviour and distribution of bird species worldwide.
