Following the Fish - Exhibition

The exhibition is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and ends Friday 30th May.

For over 100 years the herring girls were the backbone of the UK’s fishing industry. Following the Fish is a joint project run by High Life Highland’s Archive Service in partnership with Suffolk Archives, the Norfolk Record Office, and Tasglann nan Eilean (the Hebridean Archives) to capture their stories.

Come along to explore records, photographs, audio recordings and more highlighting the stories and memories of the herring girls.
