DESCRIPTION:Davochfin Farm launched Sutherland’s very first Pumpkin Patch in 2023\, to much acclaim. \nAt Davochfin\, we try to grow all the pumpkins we sell here on the farm. Pumpkin plants are very sensitive to the weather. DESCRIPTION:Another of our favourite photo walks at one of our favourite locations! As always\, we’ll meander through some beautiful spots\, chatting\, taking photographs and enjoying a relaxed day together (and yes… there will be biscuits). \nOur Inspired Photo Walks are friendly\, informal meet-ups designed to combine fresh Highland air with creative encouragement. They’re perfect if you’d like some light guidance\, inspiring surroundings and good company\, without the intensity of a formal workshop. \nThis two-location walk begins at the beautiful Big Burn waterfall trail\, following a winding path through a picturesque wooded gorge. After a relaxed lunch stop\, we’ll head to the stunning grounds of Dunrobin Castle\, focusing on the gardens and external views of this magnificent building. \n  \n10:00: Arrival at the meeting point (details confirmed via email)\, welcome and tea/coffee \n10:30: Walk into the scenic gorge of Big Burn Falls \n12:30: Lunch break (please bring a packed lunch) and relaxed photography chat \n13:15: Short drive (approx. 10 minutes) to Dunrobin Castle \n13:30: Explore the castle grounds and gardens \n15:45: Return for a final hot drink and informal group discussion \n16:00: Departure​ \nPlease note: this itinerary is indicative. The exhibition brings together the work of artists and community groups who have contributed to the project in different ways\, in different places and at different times. \nIt features work by stained glass artist Marta Sienkiewicz\, comic illustrator Aimee Lockwood\, watercolour painter Iris Hill\, filmmakers Laura O’Kane and Sinéad Hargan\, the Sutherland Stitchers\, and an herbarium produced by Tongue Gardening Group supported by Joanne B Kaar. \nPeople will be inspired by this co-curated collection\, understanding conservation action not just as surveying or habitat management\, but as a process of creating joy and hope. \nSpecies on the Edge is a collaboration of eight conservation organisations\, working with communities across Scotland’s coasts and islands to save our rarest and most vulnerable species from extinction. Funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund\, Species on the Edge works hand-in-hand with communities and landowners across Scotland to bring together expertise and resources from across the conservation sector to tackle biodiversity loss.
