COVID-19 Information for Caithness and Sutherland

If you are planning a visit to Caithness and Sutherland it is important to keep track of the latest COVID-19 guidance in order to allow you to make safe decisions about your travels. Please be aware that as updates are ongoing you should always visit the UK and Scottish Government's websites to access the most up to date health information.

Currently the guidance for the whole of mainland Scotland is to stay at home as much as possible unless for essential reasons:

  • wear a face covering
  • avoid crowded places
  • clean hands and surfaces regularly
  • keep 2 metre social distancing outdoors and in shops (only essential shops are currently open)
  • self-isolate and book a test if you have COVID-19 symptoms (new continuous cough, fever or loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste)

The Highlands are currently under COVID Protection Level 4 for the foreseeable future until new Government guidance is issued:
